Shock and despair as Tory's win a majority in the historic 2019 General Election. Reporting LIVE from Bootle and Sefton Central constituencies, here's a round-up of the night's events.

Update here in Bootle: turnout this evening was 65.9%. In the last General Election it was 69.23% in so a decrease here. There was also 49,323 total votes cast here in Bootle. #GeneralElection2019

Conservative representative for Bootle, Tarsilo Onuluk has just arrived at the Town Hall as results are expected any moment.

Labour Bootle MP Peter Dowd is holding out to see if he has maintained his long-held seat.

Liberal Democrats representative, Rebecca Hanson says the people in this constituency have been welcoming but that Britain is in a major crisis.

Voting has begun here in Bootle. The mood is slightly subdued after disappointing exit poll predicts a Conservative majority 368. The poll has come as a blow to this constituency who have a reputation as being one of the safest Labour seats in the UK.
